Global fisheries as never seen before

FishSpektrum, provider a Unique Vessel Identifier (UVI) database to achieve optimal management and proper compliance scrutiny of the world´s fishing activity, announces the public launching of FishSpektrum’s web page↗.

Madrid-based FishSpektrum runs Krakken, the world’s largest fishing and fish carrier vessel UVI identifier & tracking database resource.

Krakken V.8.1 provides comprehensive characterisations of 738.112 fishing & fish-carrier vessels (1.645.501 historical references - 100% updated-coverage of the global industrial fishing fleet) from around the world, with 128 specific information items per vessel.

The launching of their web page also coincides with the publication of ODI’s report↗: Western Africa's missing fish: the impacts of illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing and under-reporting catches by foreign fleets”. Such report is based on tracking and Id data on targeted “fish-reefer vessels” extracted from FishSpektrum’s Krakken database.
